Performing Umrah is a sacred pilgrimage to Mecca, Saudi Arabia, that you can undertake at any time of the year. Here are the steps to perform Umrah:
Enter the state of Ihram: Before starting the Umrah rituals, the pilgrim needs to enter the state of Ihram by making the intention and saying the Talbiyah, a declaration of the intention to perform Umrah.
Perform Tawaf: The pilgrim performs Tawaf by circumambulating the Kaaba seven times in a counterclockwise direction, beginning from the Black Stone and ending at it. During this time, you should recite supplications and prayers.
Perform Sa’i: After the Tawaf, the pilgrim performs Sa’i by walking seven times back and forth between the hills of Safa and Marwah, while reciting supplications and prayers.
Shaving or clipping hair: After Sa’i, men need to shave their heads, while women should clip the ends of their hair.
Exit the state of Ihram: After completing the above steps, the pilgrim can exit the state of Ihram, and resume normal activities.
